melting passion

from my sunday meeting. an adaptation from melting moments recipe.

175g softened butter
1/4 cup icing sugar
1tsp vanilla extract
1 cup sifted all purpose flour
1/4 cup sifted cornflour

filling
60 g soften butter
1 cup icing sugar
3 tsp passion fruit juice

pre-heat oven to 180c. place butter, sugar and vanilla in a bowl. beat with electric beaters until light and fluffy. stir in the flour and cornflour until combined.

place the mixture in piping bag. pipe 3cm rounds onto a baking tray lined with non-stick baking papaper, allow room for spreading. cook 12-14 minutes or until golden. cool on tray.

to make filling, place the butter icing sugar, passion fruit juice in a bowl and beat with electric beaters until fluffy and creamy. pipe into half the biscuits and sandwich with the remaining biscuits.

makes about 16 biscuits.

Back to Basics

recently i visited phra-a-thit road. and was stuck with this dish. it has the flavor of the northern thai noodle 'kao soi' with a chinese taste of sesame. i am not sure if i can recreate this recipe...

a handful of shredded veggies:
cabbage
bamboo shoots
banana blossom
morning glory
egg plant
green bean (string bean)
bean sprout

shredded cooked chicken

for the dressing:
1 tin coconut milk
1 tbsp curry paste
1 handful of sesame seed

boil veggies. arrange veggie on a plate, add chicken strips on top. simmer coconut milk and curry together for 10 minutes. pour dressing over chicken and veggies. sprinkle sesame seeds.

i tried with chilled egg noodle. it is good.

cupcakes

these are just a few cakes on my list for my f&b services.

lemon cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake

can be a bit expensive. but hey! premium quality ingredients.

double chocolate

my laziness

i was never a business minded student but managed to graduate from CLU with a degree in biz administration and arts. i always wanted to study arts but my biz-minded parents were afraid i won't earn a living.
at present, i am in an art-related (handicrafts items: fashion accessories, candles, etc) biz. supplying to scunci, claire's accessories, vidal sasson, etc. my main duty: design and develop products. but i work part-time now to almost unemployed. i now create items for families and friends. the latest item i created:

a simple thai silk clutch. nothing too fancy. but quite versatile and handmade...meaning hand sewn.

now working on a few styles of purses/wallets for a wedding in early december 2007.
